IDA S.r.l. has a long industrial story.
It grows with the market and with customer needs.
After World War II, Dr. Pietro Gemma started working with farm products.
At first, the company made rapeseed oil.
In 1947, sugar was scarce and demand was high.
IDA began making sugar and sugar syrups from sugar beets.
During the Berlin Blockade, IDA helped the airlift.
It made dehydrated cabbage, onions, and carrots.
Later, the company dried beets to make coffee substitutes.
When raw-material costs rose, IDA changed course.
It moved toward the products that define the company today.
IDA then launched vegetable flours.
It started with dehydrated spinach powder, used to make green pasta.
In 2005, IDA opened a new plant in San Giuliano Nuovo (AL).
